“Naftogaz” is ready to consider the agreements on the transit of the Russian gas only if they fit the European legislation as 112 Ukraine reported citing “Naftogaz-Ukraine” Head Andry Kobolev.
He expressed surprise at the statement of Head of the Russian “Gazprom”Alexey Miller on the readiness to extend the current contracts with “Naftogaz” after 2019 without any consultations.
“I was surprised by the offer of Mister Miller “just to extend the agreement”. I can say that “Naftogaz-Ukraine is ready to consider the future agreements only in the case they completely fit the European legislation, which was implemented in Ukraine,” he said.
Kobolev also noted that the Russian side is looking for the variants of the solution of the situation on two lost court cases in Stockholm.
“We are always open to any variants but in the case, if they correspond the decisions adopted in Stockholm and provide the complete fulfillment of all commitments in the lost cases by the Russian side,” Kobolev noted.
The bilateral negotiations of Russia-European Commission and Ukraine- European Commission took place before the trilateral meeting on gas issues between Russia, Ukraine and European Commission in Brussels. The negotiations were held with the participation of “Naftogaz-Ukraine” Executive Director Yury Vitrenko, Russian Energy Minister Alexandr Novak and “Gazprom” Head Alexey Miller.
Earlier Vitrenko claimed that the European Commission considers the possibility of complete rejection from the natural gas and other hydrocarbons.
