Naftogaz-Ukraine might fund the monetization of the subsidies, as Andriy Kobolyev, CEO of the company, wrote on his Facebook page.

“In my opinion, we are on a very dangerous stage of the reform now, as we haven’t reached its popular elements. The consumer is not really interested in such issues as reforming of Naftogaz or even winning the case with Gazprom. The consumer's primary interest is the price for the good or service, the payment method, and then – the quality, provision of service,” Kobolyev noted.

According to him, though the government increased the prices and canceled its regulation in the future, its reforming will be incomplete without monetization.

“The monetization of the subsidies is a possibility to provide the consumers with real money. It is a possibility for them to save money with lower gas consumption. It is an impetus to energy efficiency. Naftogaz is ready to provide financial resources required for payment of such subsidies. The verification will make it possible to reveal the “dead souls” and see the real ones – much lower – gas consumption rates, and save budget funds,” Kobolyev wrote.

As it was reported, Ukraine’s Government approved three-stage monetization of the subsidies process starting on January 1, 2019. According to the expert opinion, on the first stage it will concern 100,000-150,000 households, which will request subsidies with new document package. The third stage starts in October 2019, when the county will completely switch to monetization.

Earlier, the Social Policy Ministry launched the State Registry of Grantees on July 1.
