The Regulatory Committee of the Ukrainian parliament considered the materials of the Prosecutor General’s Office for the lifting of immunity from MP Dmytro Kolesnikov. The lawmaker provided the official documents that prove that the accusation of the law enforcers are falsified as gazeta.ua reported.
Particularly, the property of “Precision Pipes Plant” never related to State Property Agency and Ministry of Industrial Policy (Kolesnikov headed the ministry in 2010-2012). Moreover, it was passed to another ministry and sold out in 2005-2006.
“There is an obvious manipulation in the accusations. They even did not ask where I worked at that time. Such lie is crashed by simple facts. In 2005-2006 I worked in totally another sphere, at another industrial enterprise. And I headed the Industrial Ministry only in 2010 and this factory was governed by another ministry. And I was not able to know about the production of the precision pipes neither theoretically, nor practically,” Kolesnikov said at the session.
The MP provided the documents on the manipulations of the current authority in the case of the pass of the property of the Research and Development Institute of Pipe Industry named after Osada to the Dnipro city property.
It turned out that Kolesnikov also did not participate in the pass of the Institute’s property. The State Property Agency dealt with it where Kolesnikov did not work at that time. When he worked there, it was registered as a public institution.
Lawyers Oleh Babych and Iryna Opanasenko emphasized that “Kolesnikov is accused not only of the things he did not do but of things he theoretically could not commit as he did not work in the State Property Agency that time.”
“Moreover, such decisions were made by thousands of times by Cabinet of Ministers and ministries so it is just a procedural issue, moreover, it is not a crime. Yes, and the property of the Institute was not passed to the private persons. It was a pass from the state ownership to the ownership of the city community,” the lawyers said.
“The statements of the Prosecutor General’s Office are just an attempt to put pressure on the MP. Any court will make a positive decision on the falsified statements made by Prosecutor General,” Babych emphasized.
The Regulatory Committee considered the materials and passed them for the consideration to the Verkhovna Rada.
As we reported Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko presented a filing petition to the Verkhovna Rada on limiting immunity and prosecution of Oleksandr Vilkul, Dmytro Kolesnikov, and Serhiy Dunayev, the MPs of “Opposition Bloc”.
Later the Verkhovna Rada Committee has recognized legal and grounded the appeal for the removal of immunity from the member of the Opposition Bloc Serhiy Dunaev.
