Kyiv became the leader among the cities that worsened their place in the list of the most comfortable for a living during five years as it is stated in the Global Liveability Index 2018 published by The Economist.
Vienna, the capital of Austria was recognized as the most comfortable city. Australian Melbourne takes the second place and Osaka, Japan is on the third place. Canadian Calgary and Australian Sydney finish TOP5 cities of the rating.
Vancouver, Canada (sixth place), Toronto (eighth place), Tokyo (seventh place), Copenhagen and Adelaide make TOP10.
Syrian Damascus was recognized as the most uncomfortable city and it occupies the 140th place, then Dacca (Bangladesh), Lagos (Nigeria) and Karachi (Pakistan) are placed.
Kyiv occupies 118th place out of 140 with rating 56,6 out of 100.
Moreover, the Ukrainian capital reduced the comfort rating by 12,6% and headed the list of the cities that lost in the rating.
Abidjan (Cote d'Ivoire) headed the list of the cities that improved their indexes.
Earlier Kyiv took 75th place out of 77 cities in the ranking of the most expensive cities in the world, published by the Swiss UBS bank.
