Honorary Patriarch Filaret stated that for now there is no visible way to get recognition of the other churches. According to him, one of the main reasons would be Moscow’s influence, as he said on May 15 in a commentary for the journalists, 112 Ukraine reported.

“We don’t see any ways, which would lead to recognition. Why don’t they recognize? There are lots of reasons, but the main one is Moscow. That is why it acts there among many other orthodox churches and here, in Ukraine as well. But not through the Moscow Patriarchate, but through us, when our bishops stand against what they created – against Kyiv Patriarchate. Our task is to preserve the unity of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” he stressed.

Another reason for non-recognition of Ukraine’s autocephaly is Kyiv’s refusal from the status of a patriarchate.

Filaret also said that forces, which helped to create Kyiv Patriarchate, joined the attempts to destroy Ukrainian church.

It was reported that there were misunderstandings between the Honorable Patriarch Filaret and Metropolitan Epiphany. In particular, Filaret seems to want to restore the structure of the liquidated Ukraine's Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate (UOC-KP) and his influence on the church, while the circle of Metropolitan Epiphany is inclined to support the “Greek system” of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, proposed by Fanar.
