The Arbitration Court of Moscow decided to recover $3 million penalty from the Ukrainian state enterprise Antonov  as compensation to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. This is stated in the materials on the site of the court, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the materials, Russian Defense Ministry has filed a claim in July 2015, after which the case was postponed several times.

The announced cost of the suit was $5, 5 million.

According to the files of the case, the Defense Ministry and Antonov Aeronautical Scientific-Technical Complex (Antonov ASTC) signed a contract to perform research and development work in May 1989, which provided that the company had to fulfill and deliver to the customer research and design work on creation of AN-70 plane.

However, the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk officially announced that Ukraine stops military cooperation with Russia in May 2015. Now, the penalty under the contract demands $3 million from Antonov ASTC military department.

The trial was adjourned until November 18, so that Antonov ASTC had time to examine the claims of the Defense Ministry of Russian Federation.

Earlier it was reported that the authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic gathered materials for filing lawsuits against Ukraine. The lawsuits will deal with war crimes allegedly committed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Donbas.
