The Moscow City Court extended the arrest of Roman Sushchenko, the Ukrainian journalist for two months as Mark Feigin, the advocate reported on Twitter.

‘The Moscow City Court extended the period of detention of Roman Sushchenko until March 30, 2018. Tomorrow we will submit the appeal’, Feigin noted.

As we reported earlier Moscow City Court extended the arrest of Roman Sushchenko, the Ukrainian journalist for two more months. The court session on this case took place behind the closed doors. The Ukrainian journalists and Consul were allowed to enter the session hall only after the announcement of the judgment.

The journalist of Ukrinform was detained in Moscow on September 30, 2016. He was accused of espionage. Since that time, Sushchenko has been kept in jail. Ukraine has repeatedly appealed to the Russian Federation with a demand to immediately release the journalist.
