More than one million of the Ukrainians emigrated to Poland. Andry Deshchytsia, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland claimed this to the journalists after he was questioned as the witness on the case of the state treason of Viktor Yanukovych as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.
'We have quite new topic in the agenda of the Ukrainian-Polish relation and it is the great number of the Ukrainians in Poland. More than a million of the Ukrainian emigrants work in Poland', he said.
According to Deshchytsia, it is a buoying factor for the Polish economy.
'I think that Poland and Ukraine are interested to continue this level of the cooperation', the ambassador claimed.
He also reported that Pavlo Rozenko, the Vice Prime Minister plans to visit Poland in January to discuss the historical issues.
Mateusz Morawiecki earlier claimed that his country accepted more than 1.5 million of the Ukrainians, including dozens of thousands displaced persons from Donbas during the last years. According to him, Poland attempted to reduce the tension in the migration sphere due to this.
625 Ukrainians appealed to the Polish authorities with the request to provide them the international protection in 2017 and the dozens of thousands of the Ukrainian refugees are out of question. Svitlana Krysa, the Head of the Consular Department of the Embassy of Ukraine to Poland reported. According to her, the number of the Ukrainian refugees in Poland or those who want to get the international protection decreased in comparison to the previous years and the number announced by the Polish prime minister does not correspond to the reality.
