The Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) strengthens the monitoring of the situation at the fuel markets due to the possible decrease of the fuel supplies from Belarus as the AMCU reported.
“Despite the spread by mass media of the information about the possible restrictions of the volumes of supplies of oil products from the Belarusian refineries of Ukraine, the Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine strengthens the monitoring of the situation at the fuel markets,” the message said.
The AMCU warns the members of the markets from the commitment of any anti-competitive actions that may negatively influence the resources' provision and cost situation, particularly:
- creation of artificial deficit of fuel;
- baseless increase of whole-sail and retail prices for fuel;
- creation of barriers in access to the infrastructure of seaports for the transshipment of oil products.
Moreover, the body noted that in case of the violation of the legislation on the protection of economic competition, the committee will respond in accordance with the current legislation.
As we reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to impose special duties for the import of coal, diesel fuel, and liquefied gas. The duties will be active by the end of the year.
