Moldova ratifies agreement on readmission with Ukraine

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova on Friday, December 15 ratified the agreement on readmission (the return of foreigners who illegally crossed the border) signed with Ukraine in October 2017. This was announced by the Chairman of the State Migration Service Maksym Sokolyuk, the press center of Internal Ministry reports.

"The document sets the principles for the regulation of the procedure for readmission of people on the territory of Ukraine and Moldova who violated the entry / exit regime. The agreement also determines the terms of a stay of these citizens in two states. The agreement provides a mechanism of interaction between the parties in the implementation of the readmission procedure," the message said

The readmission agreement was signed in Chisinau on October 6, 2017 by the head of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Zhizdan and the head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokolyuk.

As it was reported earlier chairman of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokolyuk signed the Ukrainian-Moldovan agreement on the readmission within an official visit to Kyshyniv on October 6. 

"The implementation of these international agreements positively influence the development of the good-neighborly relations between Ukraine and Republic of Moldova, define fast and effective procedures on the base of mutuality that aims for identification and safe, organized return of people who did not fulfilled the rules of entry and stay in the territory of Ukraine and Moldova. It will help Ukraine to fulfill European and world standards during the implementation of the efficient tools for the state policy in the sphere of the readmission," the message said.
