Ministry of Defense receives arrested Russian surface-to-air missile system Pechora

Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), in collaboration with the Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office, Ukroboronservice company, the Customs of Mykolaiv region passed S-125, Russian air-to-surface missile system to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office reports.

“The weapons are passed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will receive the modern air-missile defense system within the whole division,” the message reads.

The system is aimed at protecting of the most important administrative? Industrial and military institutions from all types of air attacks flying at extremely law and average altitudes. It is capable of shooting down bombers, bombers-fighters, multi-purpose airplanes and some cruise missiles.

As we reported earlier, law enforcers found 36 Russian surface-to-air missiles for man-portable air defense systems “Pechora” in Odesa region as Yuriy Lutsenko, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, said at the session of Ukraine’s government.

The investigation into the smuggling-related case is underway.
