The Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov is convinced that de-occupation of Donbas will be held in the next two years. He claimed this during an expanded meeting of the Military Council of the National Guard of Ukraine with the participation of the Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchinov, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

"I am convinced that in the next two years we will carry out de-occupation of Donbas. And the most important part is assigned to the National Guard. Everything we do now is directed on the preparation for the process. Therefore, a paramilitary component must be prepared in the best way, as well as the law enforcement component,” Avakov said.

"From the very beginning, we assumed that the National Guard will be highly mobile, professional universal force that would be able to operate effectively in today's fight at the front, and act effectively in the rear, protecting the rule of law and nationality of our country. And I am pleased to state that it is exactly what the National Guard of Ukraine is now,” Turchynov added.
