Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko resigns. This was reported by Ukrainian Truth. Life citing a source.

This decision is due to the fact that the Cabinet of Ministers voted to separate the Ukrainian State Film Agency known in short as Derzhkino from the Ministry of Culture.

"The Minister learned the result ex post facto, as he was on a business trip to Paris at the 41st session of the UNESCO General Conference. In fact, at the request of the President's Office, the Cabinet of Ministers, without the consent of the Ministry of Culture, took over the powers in the Derzhkino to formulate and implement a policy in the field of cinema. Now the Derzhkino should become the Ministry of Cinema," the source said.

The minister opposed the separation of the State Film Agency, because, according to the source, "this contradicts the logic of the reform that began even before Tkachenko became minister."

Earlier, First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Kornienko resigned as chairman of the Servant of the People political party, Servant of the people speaker Yulia Paliychuk reported on  Telegram.

"Oleksandr Kornienko has decided to resign as chairman of the Servant of the People political party. This is due to his desire to focus more deeply on reforming the work of parliament as First Vice Speaker," Paliychuk wrote.

A party congress is scheduled for November, at which the leadership will rotate.
