The drivers demand to stop corruption schemes in transportation sphere

Drivers of minibuses circulating in suburban area are striking near the building of Kyiv regional city administration, reports Kyiv Operative.

According to the source, the drivers will continue to protest until they are heard. At the moment, around a hundred buses are parked near the Kyiv city administration.

Earlier the association “Kyiv Avtopereviznyky” announced they planned mass rally on April 5 during which they will burn a bus. As it was reported by Ukrainian Truth with reference to the association of Oleksiy Pavlenko, infrastructure administration break contracts with trucking companies and place others instead.


“The acting head of the infrastructure administration unilaterally cancels the contracts with the trucking companies and promotes his nominees,” Pavlenko said.

Truckers are opposed to interference in the competitive system for the distribution of routes between road transport enterprises by officials of the Kyiv regional administration and against corruption schemes. The truckers promised to park more than 150 buses near the Kyiv administration that will not go on their routes.

Earlier it was reported that protesters "bricked" Sberbank office in Kyiv. The wall near the bank was whitewashed, protesters put concrete blocks all around it.
