34 miners are striking at 1/3 Novogrodivska mine, Donetsk region. These are the miners of the morning shift, who refused to return to the surface, as the mine owes the employees $113,000 in total, the Prosecution of the Donetsk region informs on Facebook.
The prosecution has opened a criminal case on the arrears. Apart from that, the prosecution also investigated salary arrears at another mine, state enterprise Myrnohradvuhillia, where it totals $2.2 million.

According to Ukrainian legislation, groundless failure of a manager of an enterprise, institution or organization regardless of their type of ownership, to pay salary, scholarship, pension, or any other statutory payment within a period over one month is punishable by a fine of 500 to 1000 tax-free minimum incomes, or correctional labor for a term up to two years, or imprisonment for a term up to two years, with the deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years.
