Pro-Russian militants returned to Ukraine the body of Maksym Khitaylov, the soldier that deceased on February 18 during the offensive of the militants in Luhansk region, as HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reported on Facebook.
The preparation takes place for the transportation of the body to the burial site and remembrance of the deceased.
Moreover, the Ukrainian side succeeded to get the remains of the body of another Ukrainian military, Serhiy V. Tymoshchuk who died in 2014 during the service in the combat operation.
The return of the bodies of the deceased military was made possible as a result of the dialogue within the task group on humanitarian issues of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, as Interfax-Ukraine reported citing Ukraine’s representative in the group Hennadiy Kuznetsov.
“The transfer took place of the body of deceased, in the result of the confrontation on February 18, 2020, defender of the fatherland, soldier Maksym Y. Khitaylov, 1997 year of birth, as well as the remains, possibly, of the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who died during the combat actions near Luhansk airport in 2014,” Kuznetsov noted.
Kuznetsov expects that the holding of proper expert procedures will allow getting the truth toward a person wanted by relatives.
As we reported, fighter of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after Chornykh Zaporшzhtsшv Maksym Khitaylov died during a battle in the Luhansk region.
On February 18, about 5:00 a.m. the militants started the attacks of Ukrainian strongholds in Donbas near Zolote, Novotoshkivske, Orikhove, and Krymske.
The Office of Prosecutor General of Ukraine started a criminal investigation due to the fact that Russian mercenaries landed attacks on Ukrainian military emplacements in Donbas.
