According to the company's message, on December 14 independent experts, representatives of the city administration and local public organizations got acquainted with the progress of ecological modernization of the agglomerate and converter production at the plant named after Illich.
Replacement of old gas filters with new cyclones, installation of bag filters and construction of a desulphurization system will reduce dust emissions in Mariupol by 40%. The expected reduction in dust emissions at the plant itself is 91%.
The Metinvest Group will invests more than $86.5 million to reconstruct the sinter plant named after Illich. Additionally, until 2021 the company will send more than 50 million dollars for the implementation of environmental programs at the enterprise.
Austrian technologies will allow cleaning of flue gases with efficiency of up to 98.7%.
After the acquaintance with industrial objects, participants of the work meeting discussed the implementation of the Program for the protection and improvement of the environment of Mariupol, as well as the most urgent environmental problems of the city.
"We are solving the common task of ensuring a healthy atmosphere in the city. It is possible to solve problems effectively if we work together. Public officials help to determine the order and expediency of certain activities, " said Taras Shevchenko, General Director of the enterprise.
As it was reported earlier Metinvest Group of steel and mining companies announced the loss of control over all enterprises in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
"Following a request by the non-recognised republics to re-register legal entities in the so-called “DNR” and “LNR”, Metinvest declares a complete loss of control over the operations of all assets in the temporarily non-controlled territory (NCT)," the message reads.
The press service also informed that unidentified people arrived at the Group’s enterprises and demanded that the assets be re-registered under the jurisdiction of the non-recognized republics and started an inventory process.
