Christian Democratic Union of Germany, the party of Chancellor Angela Merkel, expects that candidate for the presidency Volodymyr Zelensky will tell about his plans on the strengthening of rule of law and fight against corruption as David Wadephul, the Chairman of the party, stated.
“Zelensky should provide the particular view on his policy during the next three weeks until the second round, as well as reveal the team of the politicians, who support him,” Wadephul said, adding that Ukraine needs experienced management team.
According to Wadephul, Ukraine cannot allow relying on the inexperienced management team in the conditions of the conflict with Russia and after difficult social and economic state: “Such situation will usefully play in benefit of Russia and encourage it to strengthen forces for the destabilization of Ukraine.”
“Moreover, Zelensky should explain how he is going to achieve the declared goal – the deprivation of power from oligarchs, considering the fact that his election campaign was significantly supported by oligarch Ihor Kolomoysky,” reads the message.
As of 8 a.m., April 2, Volodymyr Zelensky enters the second tour of the elections with 30,22% of votes, while Petro Poroshenko is second with 15,93%.
The voters’ turnout in Ukraine made 63,45% and 62,71% as of 8:00 p.m., March 31.
