According to the government, Merkel will begin her visit to Ukraine with the laying of flowers at the Eternal Glory Memorial at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
After that, the German Chancellor will meet with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and receive from him the Order of Liberty, which is the highest order of merit in Ukraine.
During a meeting with Zelensky, Merkel plans to discuss issues of bilateral and economic policy between Kyiv and Berlin, the reform process in Ukraine, as well as the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
After that, a joint press conference of Merkel and Zelensky is scheduled. Merkel will also meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Angela Merkel plans to discuss Ukraine, Afghanistan and Belarus during a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
