Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of Russia Vladimir Putin discussed the escalation in the east of Ukraine as Putin’s press service reported.

According to Kremlin, both sides expressed concern due to the escalation of the Donbas Conflict.

In his turn, Putin accused Ukraine of provocative actions on escalation at the contact line in Donbas.

“The sides of the conflict receive the urge on restraint and activation of negotiations process to implement 2015 Minsk Agreements in full as a single option for settlement,” the message said.

As we reported, since the beginning of the day, the militants violated the ceasefire five times. As a result of the attack, a Ukrainian soldier died. Thus, the HQ specified that on April 7, the occupants held seven violations of the ceasefire regime. Near Pisky and Opytne, the militants opened fire from 82 mm and 120 mm mortars; near Hnutove, Shyrokyno, Talakovka and Vodyane, they used various grenade launchers and small arms.
