Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of Russia Vladimir Putin discussed the escalation in the east of Ukraine as Putin’s press service reported.

In his turn, Putin accused Ukraine of provocative actions on escalation at the contact line in Donbas.
“The sides of the conflict receive the urge on restraint and activation of negotiations process to implement 2015 Minsk Agreements in full as a single option for settlement,” the message said.
