The Chancellor of Germany arrives in Kyiv today, on November 1.
It is expected that she will meet with the President Petro Poroshenko, as the President’s Administration reports.
The meeting starts at 1:15 pm in Mariyinsky Palace. Then, Poroshenko and Merkel will meet with media representatives at 2:55 pm.
The parties will discuss the situation in Donbas, occupied Crimea, Azov Sea, and Kerch Strait.
The leaders will coordinate their further steps to provide the implementation of the Minsk Agreements and enhance the international coalition within the counterwork of Russia’s continuing aggression.
They will also discuss the issues of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and enhancement of energy security of Ukraine and the EU as an integral part of the European and international security.
After the meeting, Merkel will visit the Cabinet of Ministers. She will meet with Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman at 3:30 pm. Her previous visit was held in August 2014.
Due to Merkel’s visit, some streets in the capital will be closed. The restrictions might last from 11 am till 8 pm on the streets mostly in Kyiv downtown, as the press office of Kyiv City State Administration reported.
