“Dear citizens. On this high day, we should remember people thanks to whom we can be here. It is our defenders of Ukraine, our independence, heroes who gave their lives for it. Let’s honor their cherished memory with a moment of silence. They died for the future of our children, grandchildren. We are sure that they will definitely celebrate here the 130th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine and the 1,000th anniversary of our state. For this, we remember about the past, act today and think about the future,” President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
On August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 30th anniversary of the declaration of independence.
Today, many festive events are expected today, including the military parade at Khreshchatyk, the solemn meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a large-scale gala concert at Olympiysky, different exhibitions, and local events all over the country.
