Mayor of Vasylkiv suspected of embezzlement and vote-buying in Kyiv region, MIA

Volodymyr Sabadash, the mayor of Vasylkiv of Kyiv region, is suspected of embezzlement and vote-buying. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports this, referring to the representative of the National police Maksym Tsutskiridze.

According to Tsutskiridze, the police have launched the criminal proceedings under vote-buying acts before the presidential elections. The investigation unit found out the facts of embezzlement and misappropriation of documents.

“During the investigation, we found three facts of embezzlement of state funds through abusing of powers by officials of the Vasylkiv City Council. They paid material support to some citizens groundless and then deliberately concealed official documents in order to make it impossible to uncover the fact of embezzlement,” Tsutskiridze said.

  • part 3 of Article 27 (organization of a crime),
  • part 3 of article 191 (appropriation, misappropriation or seizure of property by abuse of powers)
  • part 1 of article 357 (gaining illegally a passport or other important personal document) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
