Mayor of the town of Hlukhiv in Sumy region Michel Tereshchenko said that the ex-mayor Yuriy Burlaka together with police officers had attempted to seize power in the town using forged documents. Tereshchenko wrote about this on Facebook.
“At this very moment, a raider seizure of power in Hlukhiv is taking place. The impostors have just broken down the doors of my office! And all this is happening with the support of the police!” Tereshchenko wrote.
According to Hlukhiv Mayor, Burlak and his supporters used a fake resignation letter, which Tereshchenko did not write, and registered the termination of the mayor’s authority in the state registry. They did the same with the Secretary of Hlukhiv City Council Olena Demisheva. At the same time, Burlaka was registered as a Secretary of the City Council.
According to Tereshchenko, President Volodymyr Zelensky is aware of the situation in Hlukhiv, but is not taking any action.
At the same time, the mayor of Hlukhiv told about the threats towards the workers of the City Council.
“The impostor Yuriy Burlaka, accompanied by the police, came to the city council on April 1, demanding to give hime the seal. Together with his gang and several traitors from the city council, they carry out an inventory, threaten and try to illegally dismiss my team members. Yuriy Burlaka refuses to provide an official decision of the so-called session at which, as he believes, the deputies alleged voted for my letter of resignation and the fake letter itself. All employees who, guided by Article 60 of the Constitution of Ukraine, refuse to carry out criminal orders, are pressured and threatened” Tereshchenko said.
