"On Sunday, September 20, a March of Justice took place in Minsk. Protests continued in other cities of the country. Demonstrators were detained in Minsk, Grodno, Gomel, Brest and Mogilev," the statement reads.
Thus, the list of people detained in the Belarusian capital consisted of 168 names. Another 69 people were detained by security forces in different regions of the country.
Yesterday, on September 20, an opposition March of Justice was held in various cities of Belarus.
In addition, another Women's March took place in Minsk on Saturday, September 19, in protest against the current government. About 400 people were detained during the protests.
As it was reported earlier, mass protests against the results of the August 9 presidential election continue in Belarus. Security forces detain protesters as well as opposition leaders. The European Union is demanding Alexander Lukashenko to release detainees and respect the rights of citizens to peaceful protest. People died during the rallies. The exact number is unknown.
