A march in support of ex-President of Georgia and former Governor of Odesa region Mikheil Saakashvili is held in downtown Kyiv.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, about 1.000 people participate in the march. The protesters are walking towards Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Their aim is to support Saakashvili, demand NABU’s independence, and insist on impeachment legislation and dismissal of Prosecutor General Lutsenko.
Some of the protesters called on marching towards the detention centre where Saakashvili is detained now, but the organizers called on them not to hurry to do that.
Many law enforcers are accompanying the protesters. So far the situation is peaceful.
As we reported earlier, on Friday night the enforcement officers detained ex-governor of Odesa region Mikheil Saakashvili and took him to the Security Service department, where he was placed in a detention facility. He is accused of aiding a criminal group.
