The March of 2018 was colder than the climate norm for the first time in Kyiv over five years, as the press office of the Central Geophysical Observatory of Borys Sreznevsky reported.
The average temperature in March in Kyiv was -1,9 ° С, which is 2,6 °С lower than the climate norm. Such deviation was observed for the first time since November 2016. Before, all the months were warmer than the climate norm. March became the coldest spring month from the beginning of the 21st century.
The coldest weather in Kyiv was on March 2, when the minimum temperature was –14,7°С and the warmest day was on March 27 with the temperature +9,3°С.
There were 81 mm of precipitations in Kyiv, which is more than two climate norms.
The snow cover on the observation site on March 31 was a proof of a cold spring month.
