A man threw a Molotov cocktail into the office of Commissioner for Human Rights Denisova Lyudmyla Denisova on Institutska Street in Kyiv. This was reported by the Graty project.
"An inidentified person threw a Molotov cocktail at the office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights on Institutska Street in Kyiv. Police detained the attacker," the statement said.
According to the KievVlast agency, the fire was promptly eliminated, only the front door of the building was damaged. There were no victims.
According to media reports, the arsonist was detained while trying to set fire to the Supreme Court building.
Lyudmyla Denisova has been the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada since March 2018.
The Ombudsman conducts proceedings on the basis of appeals of citizens of Ukraine on violation of their rights or on her own initiative. To this end, the Commissioner is endowed with broad powers: from visiting the pre-trial detention center to an immediate reception by the President of Ukraine and other officials.
