A man threw an explosive device at police officers in Kyiv’s Troieshchyna district on Mayakovsky avenue, reports Espreso TV.
An incident occurred at the public transport stop but it is still unknown if it has happened during the document check or some other circumstances.
As a result of the detonation of the explosive device, police car Toyota Prius (it was cut by the debris, the glass of window got broken), kiosk and a public transport pavilion were damaged.
The police officers themselves, according to preliminary information, were not seriously injured.
The agency notes that there was a handcuffed man at the scene and he was probably the one who attacked
The investigative group now works at the scene, as well as explosives experts who are to find out what exploded at the stop.
As it was reported earlier Yuriy Levchenko, people’s deputy, member of Svoboda, was beaten in Kyiv. Svyatoslav Kutniak, Kyiv Council deputy, wrote this on his Facebook page. According to him, they were trying to “impede an illegal construction”. Kutniak noted, that Levchenko was “beaten senseless”, he probably “got a burn” from a pepper spray. Later, press-office of the National Police reported that Levchenko threw Molotov cocktail trying to prevent utility services from demolishing illegal garages in Shevchenkivskyi district in Kyiv.
