In Dnipropetrovsk region, a man has grown a hemp plantation worth more than 44.600 dollars, hiding plants in corn. The press service of the National Police of Ukraine reported this.

"More than 2,000 drug-containing cannabis plants were found and destroyed by police in the middle of a corn field. The plants were cultivated and the field was equipped with drip irrigation," the statement said.

In addition, law enforcers during a search in the house of the offender found 1,5 kg of the dried marijuana. After the examination, it was established that the cost of the plantation (about 2 thousand plants) and finished products at the prices of the "black" market is more than 44.600 dollars.

The offender, a 26-year-old citizen of Ukraine, will be notified of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 310 (sowing or growing opium poppy or hemp) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces three to seven years in prison.
