Macron intends to resume cooperation in Normandy Format

France does not recognize the annexation of Crimea, the President stressed

France is determined to resume Minsk process in Normandy Format and besides that supports  the work of the contact group in Minsk. This was announced by the French president Emmanuel Macron during the joint briefing with his Ukraine’s counterpart Petro Poroshenko.

"We are indeed determined to continue the Minsk process and before G20 meeting we support resuming active cooperation in in Normandy Format with involvement of the OSCE, this is what I suggested to all parties. After the discussion I had with Mr. Putin, we indeed stated the facts indicating the development of the situation. If we are talking about the seizure of the Crimea by Russia, France has always supported the sovereignty of Ukraine within internationally recognized boundaries, therefore France will not recognize the annexation of the Crimea, "he said.

As it was reported earlier that Poroshenko met with Macron in France on June 26. French Ambassador to Ukraine Isabelle Dumont said that among other topics the heads of state will discuss Normandy format of negotiations on Donbas.
