Lviv region may go into the red quarantine zone from any day, director of the health department of the Lviv Regional State Administration Orest Chemerys states, according to local media.

"Unfortunately, once again we state that the epidemiological situation on the territory is deteriorating daily. We monitor key indicators and observe that with a large amount of biomaterial for research, in fact, every second person has a positive PCR test," said Chemerys.

In addition, the level of hospitalization of patients in the region has sharply increased.

"For the third day in a row, we have crossed the 60 mark, we are talking about the number of hospitalized people per 100 thousand. Accordingly, unfortunately, the region is already moving confidently to the red level of epidemiological danger," the official added.

As Lviv regional state administration reports, currently 159,411 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Lviv region. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,086 patients have died and 138,678 have recovered.

Last night, October 11, the coronavirus was confirmed in 978 people in Lviv and the region. 349 people were hospitalized in the region on October 11.

As it was reported earlier, Chief sanitary doctor Ihor Kuzin stated that the government is unlikely to recommend restricting the functioning of public transport during the new possible lockdown in Ukraine.
