Lviv region has started to deploy additional beds in hospitals due to the growing incidence of coronavirus. This was announced by the head of the Department of Healthcare of the Lviv Regional State Administration Orest Chemerys during a briefing.
“Until yesterday, there were 8 medical institutions in the region, where adults were treated, and one children's hospital. As of today, Sokal and Rudkivka hospitals have been launched. In addition, three more institutions have been instructed to prepare Covid wards for patients,” Chemerys said.
He noted that hospitals that were involved during the third wave in the spring of 2021 have already begun to receive patients.
It is reported that 152 people with coronavirus were hospitalized in the Lviv region on September 20, and a total of 1268 such patients are in hospitals. Thus, hospitals are already 38.4% full.
