Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi believes that the state of emergency should be declared in the city due to garbage removal issue. He said this during the briefing, according to city council press service.

According to Sadovyi, there is a very serious ecological threat. There is no reserve disposal site where the garbage can be taken to at the moment.

Mayor noted that the problem exists in 4 areas of the region.

"State Emergency Commission should have a clear position on this. As Lviv cannot declare emergency state independently. This is to be done by public authorities: either regional or state-level," he said.
