Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi proposed to create a reserve landfill in Chornobyl zone. He said this in a commentary to journalists, according to Lviv city administration.

"Lviv residents produce 600 tons of garbage every day, why manipulate? Define exact landfills where the waste can be brought. What if such trouble happens in another big city? Kyiv, which is making 3 thousand tons of waste, what would they do? My offer is very simple — create a reserve landfill in Chornobyl area for the country, which should be prepared for extreme cases," he said.

According to Sadovyi, he is ready to co-finance the creation of such landfill as mayor with the funds of local community.
