"Organizers of "garbage" blockade can start celebrating. We have indeed run out of possibilities to avoid ecological disaster. We stood for a year! We also believed in signatures of government officials under the memorandum for the lifting of the blockade. It turned out all of that was for nothing," he wrote on Facebook.
Mayor noted that Lviv took all possible measures to overcome critical situation due to the absence of its own landfill. The construction of the new plant will last two years.
"French experts along with Ukrainian specialists are actively working on technological parameters and the project. We are finalizing the detailed study of the proposed area for the plant at the territory of thermal power plant #2," he added.
