Lufthansa airlines cancels 800 flights due to strikes in Germany

Lufthansa airlines informed about a cancellation of 800 flights out of 1,600 on April 10 due to the strikes in four airports in Germany. It was reported on the company’s website on April 9.

The flight cancellation will concern around 90,000 passengers. But according to the statement, the flights will be resumed on April 11. 

The decision was made due to the strike of the airport staff in Frankfurt, Munich, Cologne and Bremen. Verdi trade-union was the initiator of the strike.

It was noted, that the passengers flying from Frankfurt and Munich can exchange their tickets to a later date within seven days, whether the flight was cancelled or not.

The company also offers to return tickets on the domestic flights in exchange for train tickets.
