The Customs Service of Lithuania began the investigation of the legality of import of the cars with the European license plates to Ukrainian territory and the usage of the cars with the Lithuanian registration there upon the request of Ukraine. The press service of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine reported this.
‘The Lithuanian colleagues began the investigation towards the legality of the import and usage of the transport vehicles registered in the Republic of Lithuania in the territory of Ukraine’, the message said.
According to Fiscal Service, more than 59 000 transport vehicles with the Lithuanian registration, including 44 600 cars in the regime of the temporary import stay at the customs territory of Ukraine as at November 1.
As it was reported the Fiscal Service claimed in September that there are 63 900 illegal cars with the foreign license plates in Ukraine.
The Supreme Administrative Court of Kyiv delivered the first judgment towards the driver of the car with the foreign license plates in the end of July. The fine equaled 15 750 dollars.
Also, it was reported that the government is ready to participate in the work out of the changes to the legislation concerning the cars with the foreign registration.
The protest occurred near the Verkhovna Rada on September 6-7. The protesters demanded to implement the affordable customs clearance for the cars with the European license plates.
