State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) announced suspicion to the Deputy Commander of the military unit from the rear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who caused damage to the budget by roughly $33,000. This was reported by the SBI press service.
The SBI established that during January-February 2019, the Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine overestimated services provided by the company supplier of products for the military unit.
He issued expense invoices under the contract for food supply a total of $33,000, which in fact did not reach the military unit.
According to preliminary information, the soldier received kickbacks from the company's representative.
The serviceman is suspected of using his authority, which caused serious consequences to the state interests, as well as of issuing knowingly false official documents.
He faces imprisonment for up to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years and a fine of 500 to 1,000 non-taxable minimum incomes.
As it was reported earlier on July 12, Kharkiv City Council officials caused state budget losses during purchase of products for preschool institutions.
