The process of liberation of the occupied territories of Donbas from the militants and Russian military should start in the autumn of 2017. This was stated by Deputy Minister for the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons, Georgiy Tuka, reports Espresso.TV.
He noted that the questions of liberation of Crimea and Donbas from Russian occupation should be separated from each other, because, in his opinion, it will take much longer to return the annexed peninsula.
"With regard to the return of Donbas I have the distinct impression that we will have the opportunity in autumn, perhaps, to start a real process of return of these territories. In a nonmilitary way, I really hope," said Tuka.
According to him, this will occur not because Ukraine would agree to hold the elections in Donbas, but due to the fact that Russia will simply cease financial support to these areas because of the pressure.
