LGBT march in Ukraine

The representatives of the Ukrainian LGBT-community recorded a video address to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky where he says that a person is the biggest value of our state and invited him to the Equality March KyivPride which will be held on June 23.

The relevant address was published on the page of Equality March on Facebook, as Ukrainian News reported.

“Dear Mr. President, we support your position that a person is the biggest value of the state. On June 23, thousands of Ukrainians will show up at an Equality March with hope for the European future of our country. And you, Volodymyr, will you be the first Ukrainian President who has shown up on the Equality March and supported human rights?” the activists ask.

Besides, the representatives of LGBT commented on the parade. According to them, their tradition is an unconditional value to be themselves and not to be afraid to live fully.

“Freedom which we have been fighting for and continue preserving now. Not a certainty but a process. In which we have to uphold human rights, which means – all the citizens. KyivPride needs unity. Now Ukraine is separated by an aggressor. Ukrainian people are divided by “25” and “75”. By “righteous” and “sodomites”. By “we” and “them”. Working shoulder to shoulder and respecting the diversity, together we will build up a wealthy and prosperous country,” the activists explained.

It was noted that for over ten years KyivPride is a symbol of the fight of the Ukrainian homosexuals, lesbians, transgenders and sexless people for equal rights in Ukraine and regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity, the citizens will join the fight for human rights for all.

As it was reported, far-right and anti-LGBT groups are preparing to Equality March.

Earlier, activists reported that police did not investigate one of the attacks at KyivPride participants.
