The average occupancy of hospital beds for coronavirus patients in Ukraine is 34.5%. This was reported by the press center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Health, 34.5% of such beds are occupied in the country, and only 24.7% are patients with confirmed Covid-19.
The last region with an increased occupancy of hospital beds was Mykolaiv region. However, according to published data, this figure dropped to 49.9%.
In addition to Mykolaiv region, Kyiv (41.1%) and Odesa region (40.6%) are among the three regions with the highest occupancy of hospitals. The lowest occupancy of hospital beds was recorded by the Ministry of Health in Kirovohrad region - 22%.
In total, as of December 31, there are 65,448 beds in medical institutions.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health plans to conduct at least one million tests a month with rapid tests for an antigen to Covid-19.
"Yesterday I held a conference call with the heads of laboratory centers of the Ministry of Health and directors of health departments of the regional state administration. They discussed, in particular, the active implementation of rapid antigen testing. More than 260,000 such tests have already been delivered and distributed to the regions. We expect about 1.5 million more tests to be transferred from State Enterprise 'Medical Procurement of Ukraine' in the near future so that we can deliver them to the regions next year. Our goal is to conduct at least one million tests a month with rapid antigen tests," the Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov stated.
