“We filed an appeal to the Supreme Court of Crimea in defense of a citizen of Ukraine Oleh Prykhodko with a request to cancel the decision of Kyivsky district court issued yesterday,” Sheikhmambetov said.
The lawyer said that he met with the client during the investigative actions.
Sheikhmambetov said that Prykhodko was placed in Simferopol pre-trial detention center. He added that the activist had already settled in the cell. In prison, people were surprised that an elderly man like Prykhodko was accused of terrorism.
Sheikhmambetov said that the Ukrainian activist thanked everyone who worried about him.
“He also asked to convey, I will quote: “I will only kneel before God,” meaning that he will not bow and will continue to fight so that justice prevails,” the lawyer said.
The Russian-controlled Kyivsky district court of Crimea arrested the activist for two months. He will be in jail until December 1.
As it was reported earlier, pro-Ukrainian activist Oleh Prykhodko from Saky was detained in annexed Crimea on October 10. Russian FSB accused Ukrainian Prykhodko of preparing explosion in Saky.
