"New law "On the National security of Ukraine" implements new advanced words standards in our army, the activity of our special services and law enforcement bodies. It strengthens our military and defensive potential and civilian control over the army, transparency of the military budget. The law creates new possibilities for the military-technical cooperation with the allies, first of all with the US," the president said.
Poroshenko specified that it concerns not only the supply of the modern defensive armament like Javelin.
"In the result of the implementation of the law, Ukraine will become stronger and the safety of the people more reliable. When we implement it, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the whole sector will completely correspond to the criteria of Ukraine's membership to NATO. This law is the important step of our country on the path of the European and EuroAtlantic integration. It is our strategic direction and I intend to enshrine it in the Constitution in the near future," the president concluded.
