Law on increase of export duty on scrap metal comes into force

The law No. 2700-VIII on the increase of export duty to 58 euros per ton of scrap metal came into force in Ukraine today, on April 5.

The law provides an increase of export duty from 42 to 58 euros per a ton till September 2021.

As it was reported, in May 2018, Ukraine’s Parliament has set the scrap metal export duty at the level of 42 euros per one ton. The norm was supposed to be in force till September 2019.

Yet, the Verkhovna Rada supported the law on the increase of export duty in February 2019 by 234 votes of the Ukrainian MPs.
