Law enforcers make more than 100 raids in Mykolaiv

Large scale raids are being held at the deputies of the city council and famous entrepreneurs in Mykolaiv, Southern Ukraine, the local "Novosti-N" reported citing the prosecutor’s office.

"Around 90 raids are being performed in Mykolaiv, they were approved by the Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko. The raids are held in the building of Technocrat. The raids are performed by the officers of the military procurator's office and the Security Service of Ukraine. The sanctions were issued by the court in Mariupol upon the presentation by the Mykolaiv’s prosecutor,” reads the message.

Local outlet states that the searches are held at the city council deputies from the Opposition Bloc.

It is also noted that the reason for the searches is yet unknown.

“Suspected of the “arms and drugs supplies from the combat zone in Donbas” – this is stated in the court search order,” reads the message.

Apart from that the searches are held at the houses of several Mykolaiv lawyers.

According to the NikNovosti, the raids are also held at the director of CenterLift.

“He is suspected of embezzlement of public funds under colour of supplies and installation works at lifting mechanisms. The customers – housing and utility services department of the city council – are also being searched at the same time,” notes the outlet.
