As it was reported earlier the Semi-final Allocation Draw for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest took place at the Lisbon's City Hall on January 29. The Host Insignia Handover Ceremony occurred before it.

The ceremony took place for the occasion, where Lisbon took over from Kyiv as the Eurovision host city. Vitaly Klitschko, the Mayor of Kyiv officially handed over the keys to Fernando Median, the Mayor of Lisbon.

In total, 18 performers are to compete for the right to represent Ukraine at the International Song Contest Eurovision, which this year will be held in Lisbon. Musical producers note that during the first stage they received more than a thousand applications. The main difference of the current national selection is that all the songs that will be broadcasted live are original.
