The largest special tactical drills of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2018 took place at the proving ground situated at the Azov Sea coast as the press service of the Defense Ministry reported.
The artillery, aviation, armored and wheeled transport, personnel of an airborne brigade and air assault brigade participated in the drills. More than 500 soldiers and 200 units of different equipment: tanks, armored personnel carriers and armored regiment vehicles participated in the drills. A few chains of Mi-24 attack helicopters and Mi-8 transport helicopters provided the air support.
By design, the conditional enemy violates the achieved peaceful agreement, using the amphibious ships and has begun the full invasion to Ukraine.
‘To stop the aggressor, the soldiers of the airborne brigade and air assault brigade made the counter fights and annihilated the enemy in the result of it’, the message said.
The training lane was equipped with the special radio-wave-controlled targets. It allowed to fully imitate the attack and the tactics of the enemy. Moreover, the commanders of all chains used only the staff means of communication.
Also, a few self-propelled artillery batteries, mortar launchers and multiple-launch missile systems also were involved.
