Kyiv, having successfully hosted the Champions League Final, proved that it can arrange the events of the international level, as Vitali Klitschko, Kyiv Mayor, stated, commenting on the conduction of a huge football celebration.
“Now I can say that everything went well. Yes, we were worried because it was the first time Kyiv was a hosting city to such a large-scale event. But we worked very hard to make it happen and it was a success,” Klitschko stressed.
The Mayor thanked the law enforcers for the coordinated work and competence.
“I’m saying thank you to all law enforcement agencies for their work at the event. I want to thank every police officer who maintained the public order in the city. Their contribution was extremely important," Klitschko added.
Earlier today, Kyiv Mayor had a meeting with Aleksander Čeferin, the President of UEFA, and discussed the results of Champions League. Čeferin marked the high level of the organization and said: “I would like to thank the city of Kyiv and Mayor Klitschko for a fantastic organization of the Champions League final. You shouldn’t forget that it is the biggest sports event in the world and it is not easy to organize it. Yesterday and days before there were not a single mistake made. Thanks for everything, thank you for your hospitality. I am sure that at least a half of the football supporters will come back to Kyiv”.
He also added that if the city managed to conduct such a big event like the Champions League, then it can host any other event. “UEFA Champions League Final is the biggest event, so we absolutely can do it,” the UEFA President said.
It should be noted that Klitschko gave a tour to Aleksander Čeferin around the museum of Klitschko brothers.
