Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko testified at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau within the criminal proceeding opened due to his request on the possible bribery to Head of President’s Office Andriy Bohdan, as Klitschko’s website reported.
“Such statements of the head of the Office of the President should be checked within the criminal proceeding as they may witness on the commitment of the criminal offenses. Only one thing surprised: why Mr. Bohdan, the lawyer for the profession, did not appeal to the law enforcement bodies immediately but came with such “vivid” statements to the press conference? I, as the whole community, would like to know: if it happened for real, who appealed, on whose behalf and with what offers? Names, sums, conditions, and whether the official got the unlawful benefit,” Klitschko stated.
Klitschko did not exclude that the statement may be defamation.
As it was reported earlier, Mayor of Kyiv and Chairman of Kyiv City State Administration Vitaly Klitschko asked the NABU to open the case on alleged bribery proposed to Head of President’s Office Andriy Bohdan in the amount of $20 million. Mass media reported that the criminal case had been opened.
According to him, the criminal proceeding was opened under Article No. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (proposition of illegal benefit to an official).
